Book 1: Common Charges

Failing journalist Andy leaves his Greek girlfriend renting in the ugliest part of South London to buy a cut-price apartment at Solomou 30, Exarcheia, Athens. Shortly afterwards a man is murdered in the building entrance. When rich tenant Christos steps in to replace cranky old Mr. Giannakis as the building administrator, promising to reverse years of neglect, it seems like a change for the better to everyone but him. Through Andy's investigations, everyone - foreigner and Greek - will get to know their neighbours at last, but some will wish they hadn't... secrets old and new collide in this story of gentrification, history, family, and a struggle to survive that crosses borders.

Book 2: Last Seen in Athens

A year on from the unmasking - and prompt re-masking - of a double murderer, Solomou 30 is gaining in reputation in certain quarters of Athens as a powerful machine for investigating the sort of problems that can't be taken to the police. Ex-Afghan cop and new dad Reza has become a reluctant landlord, and black money is making everyone's world go round. However, it isn't long before the problems come back home - the young man renting Reza's apartment disappears, and if they don't go looking for him, no-one else will. Shortly afterwards, a hidden camera is discovered in the hallway, and it seems someone knows more about what goes on at Solomou 30 than its inhabitants would like.
